Claas Tucano Combine Harvester Brings Versatility
20/08/07

A new CLAAS combine harvester is rolling onto the fields: the TUCANO. Many features of the LEXION series have been combined in this premium machine of the upper medium class. The TUCANO is ideal for every farm because it can be flexibly equipped to suit all requirements.

Maximum threshing capacity - the TUCANO is the only combine harvester in its class fitted with an APS system.

Customer requests took central stage during its development, and many years of experience with LEXION technology were also incorporated in the design of the new combine harvester. The LEXION was the role model for its comfort and design. At first glance, the TUCANO impresses with its bold features. "One with a clear agenda in mind," designer Paul Budde points out.

Versatile operation options

The TUCANO provides endless operation possibilities. All LEXION cutterbars with a width of up to nine metres can be used. Therefore it harvests grain, rape seed, maize, sunflowers and much more. The new combine harvester fulfils a multitude of different requirements. For some customers, the maximum threshing capacity with the APS system is the deciding factor, while others emphasise high straw quality.
The newly developed cab with extra-large windows provides optimum vision of crop flow and frontal attachments and sets high standards in the upper medium class in terms of convenience. The good cab cushioning, the three-way adjustable steering column and the new control panel, which is attached to the driver's seat, allow the driver to stay focussed on his work, even during long harvest days. The electronic board information system CEBIS with the large colour screen, which has already stood the test in the LEXION, can also be found in the TUCANO.

As bright as daylight also at night – the lighting system guarantees best vision around the clock.

Convenient accessibility

As on the LEXION, the grain tank is situated right behind the cab. This facilitates direct viewing of the grain and therefore provides a first quality control of the crop. The location of the engine is conveniently accessible for maintenance and service work. Further advantages is the optimum weight distribution as well as the larger grain tank capacity, which can hold up to 9,000 litres.
