Good, strong trade was witnessed at the Easter show and sale of
prime lambs at Skipton Auction Mart. (Mon, March 17).

The championship went to Robert Towers, of Camp House Farm, Farleton,
Lancaster, with a pair of January-born Beltex-cross-Charollais
twin lambs that weighed in at 36 kilos.
They sold for the show-topping price of £102 each to show
judge Ross Greenwood, who is selling them over the Easter period
at his farm shop at Carleton, near Skipton.
The second prize pen of 41-kilo Texel-Suffolk-cross lambs from
Mark Evans, Steeton, made £91 apiece when bought by Andrew
Atkinson, of Harrogate, who also purchased the third and fourth
prize pens from Robert Towers and Martin Preston, Bingley, for £70
and £68 a head respectively.
