SAC and the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) have announced that they will once again be working together at the 2008 Royal Highland Show which takes place 19 – 22 June, 2008 at Ingliston.
Building on the success of the last two years, SAYFC members from across Scotland will be providing entertainment for RHS visitors at the SAC sponsored stage on each day of the Show.
Performers have gone through a rigorous, but fun, audition process at local talent spot nights to create a packed programme with acts ranging from singing and dancing performances, a bed making challenge, the Von Park family, a tribute to Crossroads, and the eagerly awaited return of the SAYFC annual Blind Date competition. The organising committee also promise a few surprises along the way as well as a regional challenge!
The Stage Show provides a perfect opportunity to both entertain and showcase talent, but more importantly demonstrates the commitment SAYFC members have to the association and its aims. Performances will take place daily during the Show from 11:00 – 17:00 daily, with the exception of Saturday when the Young Farmers inter club pipes will perform after the Tug of War, and before the Stockmanship results.
SAC Vice Principal (Education & Training), David McKenzie said, “I am delighted that once again SAC is able to work closely with the Scottish Young Farmers in supporting them at the Royal Highland Show. As Scotland’s land-based Higher Education college it’s important SAC does all it can to nurture and develop young people in farming and rural areas.”
