Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health has produced a free orf vaccination starter pack containing practical advice to help sheep farmers control the disease in their flock.
The Orf information pack
|
Available from veterinary practices, the information-based starter pack contains a practical guide to orf and its control in UK sheep flocks, a DVD profiling practicing vet and farmer experiences of managing the disease and a best practice vaccination protocol.
“Orf is a widespread disease of sheep and a persistent problem on many UK units,” comments Intervet/Schering-Plough large animal veterinary adviser Rosemary Booth MRCVS. “It can cause significant welfare problems and financial losses, but often farmers struggle to manage the disease alone. People working with sheep can also catch orf, so it’s well worth developing a better understanding of the disease. This new pack from vets gives sheep producers the information they need and explains how to vaccinate animals effectively with Scabivax Forte.”
