Commercial goats will return to the Dairy Event and Livestock Show, the two day specialist event organised by the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers offering all farmers comprehensive technical, business and financial information and to be staged at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on 16 and 17 September.
The Commercial Goat Exhibition, developed in association with the British Goat Society (BGS), will focus on milking techniques, nutritional advice and solutions to animal health issues, together with a series of seminars and practical demonstrations, including AI and foot trimming. A display of commercial breeds will indicate which is best suited to either dairy, meat or fibre production and there will be an opportunity to meet various representatives from the commercial sector including producer, vet and cheesemaker. In addition, the exhibition will be promoting Britain’s diverse range of goat genetics available for export to international visitors.
RABDF chief executive, Nick Everington explains: “Following its successful launch at last year’s Dairy Event and Livestock Show we are continuing to work with BGS to further develop the exhibition which will offer technical and marketing information to all existing and prospective commercial goat producers to help them better exploit the market place.”
