New Holland Offers Technology and Economy at Saltex
2009-08-05

New Holland will showcase the latest technology for those looking to boost workrates and efficiency, alongside economical, versatile tractor power that can beat budget constraints, on stand V29 at Saltex.

Newly modified, the T1560 and T1570 tractors are ideal workhorses around the golf course, for landscape contractors and sports facilities, now featuring the latest three-cylinder tier III diesel engines rated at 30 and 33hp.

Frugal fuel consumption along with low levels of noise and vibration are major benefits of the latest engine technology, while New Holland’s exceptional build quality and use of heavy duty components makes for reliability and a long working life.

Despite their ‘economy’ designation, New Holland has not scrimped on the specification of the T1500 range, which includes four-wheel drive for improved traction and pulling efficiency, power steering and a choice of 9x3 mechanical drive or three-speed hydrostatic transmission.

Versatility to handle a range of attachments is offered by an 873kg capacity rear linkage and independent rear pto, while a mid-pto is standard on hydrostatic versions – perfect for New Holland’s Blueline mowing deck. Hydraulic capacity is 27.1 litres, enough to power implements including a new economy loader supplied through New Holland’s groundcare warehouse.

The operator environment is also top quality, with a spacious, uncluttered platform, adjustable seat and cup holder; a folding ROPS is standard. A tilting bonnet eases access for servicing, while regular tasks such as refuelling and oil level checks are carried out from the side of the bonnet.

New Holland’s award winning 41-51hp Boomer 3000 series will be a highlight of New Holland’s presence, featuring the EasyDriveTM CVT transmission. This highly innovative system, which can be fitted on tractors up to 115hp, uses a chain variator which is controlled via hydraulic pressure. Power is then split and sent through an epicyclic gearset to deliver infinitely variable and highly efficient power to the wheels.

Tractors with the EasyDriveTM transmission have been shown to make 11% more power available at the pto than a hydrostatic equivalent, dramatically increasing efficiency when operating powered implements such as mowers and Verti-Drains. Speeds from 0.3 to 30kph can be achieved without gear shifting, and a cruise control allows forward and reverse speeds to be set for the task in hand. This offers an ideal solution for fixed speed work such as aeration and spraying, while reactivity can also be selected to ensure slow acceleration on delicate turf or a quick move off on the road.

New Holland’s SupersuiteTM cab is another outstanding feature of the Boomer 3000. Easy to access via two wide opening doors, the cab offers exceptional all-round visibility and even incorporates a roof window for loader work. Air conditioning is standard.

To make the most of the Boomer 3000’s exceptional capability for work, the SupersteerTM axle can be specified, giving a steering angle of 75 degrees. This works in tandem with SensitrakTM which disengages the drive to the front wheels on turns, eliminating turf scuffing.

And like any serious contender, the Boomer 3000 punches above its weight with rear lift capacity of 1600kg, handling the high capacity implements favoured by groundcare professionals.

With two such innovative tractor series just part of an extensive range which spans 21-106hp from sub-compacts to the T5000 utility tractor, professional ride-on mowers and an extensive line of purpose-designed attachments from the company’s groundcare warehouse, the New Holland stand is an essential destination for any visitor to Saltex.

IOG Saltex is the UK's most important and dynamic event for the grounds care, sports facilities, amenities, landscaping and estate management sectors, taking place on 8-10 September 2009 at Royal Windsor Racecourse.
