A consignment of maiden and yearling heifers from the Sarkley Limousin herd attracted strong interest for the Pennie family at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Saturday 21st November 2009.
Selling for the top price of the sale was Sarkley Dalola a 22 month old stunning heifer sired by the noted 37,000gn Fieldson Aly and out of Sarkley Ola, RWAS Champion 2000. Her name may sound familiar as Dalola’s mother was also granddam of Sarkley Bellola who sold for 24,000gns and bred Wilodge Dallaglio that sold at Carlisle in the recent October Bull Sale for 30,000gns. Dalola was sold to new breeder Malcolm Reid of Kelso to form the nucleus of the new herd.
Following at 17,000gns was Sarkley Damarianne a younger heifer at 15 months. She is a daughter of the outstanding sire Salomon and bred from one of the herds top cow family who has also bred the 23,000gn Sarkley Sebastian. Damarianne carries a massive pedigree and is three quarter sister to the 17,000gn Sarkley Crystal. She was successfully sold to join Dalola for Malcolm Reid.
