Breeders of red and white dairy cattle now have access to the number one type red and white sire currently available in the world, as Jotan - the acclaimed son of Jordan with an exceptional, world-beating pedigree - is now being sold in the UK.

This remarkable bull is in the top dozen for type of all dairy bulls – both red and white and black and white – and will be a welcome addition to any red and white breeder’s genetic armoury, whether milking Ayrshires or red and white Holsteins.
Ranking alongside household names in the world of high type breeding such as Braedale Goldwyn and Picston Shottle, Jotan has a Type Merit of +3.24 which reflects the incredibly stylish and functionally correct daughters he has produced in the six countries in which he has been co-sampled, including the USA, Holland and Germany.
Described by sire analysts as outstanding for their high and wide rear udders with exceptional support, it is the strength and substance of the frame on which his daughters are built that is really impressing the breeders.
With a pedigree described as ‘made in heaven’ and high milk components into the bargain, it is no surprise that Jotan is attracting international attention and is being widely used as a sire of sons.
Jotan descends from a maternal line of six successive generations classified EX, and his dam is the famous Durham daughter, Kamps Hollow Altitude EX95(4). This makes him half brother to KHW Kite Advent Red, one of the most successful red Holstein bulls of all time but which was never available in the UK.
“We are absolutely delighted to be able to bring a bull of such high calibre to British breeders,” says Evans Drayton, managing director of Dairy Daughters who market the bull. “He joins two exceptional type bulls we already have in our stud – Mario Xacobeo and ALH Dancer - who rank first and sixth respectively of all UK and international bulls available to UK breeders.
“And since we are keen to adhere to our founding principles of offering exceptional value to British farmers by minimising costs of administration and passing these savings on to our customers, Jotan is being offered at the competitive price of £23, reducing to £18 for orders of 100 straws.”
But Dairy Daughters is about far more than just good value and now boasts a remarkable six of the top 20 type bulls available to British farmers. This leaves it streets ahead of its closest competitors, the leader of which has just half this number of high type bulls within the top 20.
