A new Better Returns Programme (BRP) manual offering sheep producers practical advice on how to improve returns by feeding their ewes more efficiently has been produced by EBLEX.
'Improving ewe nutrition for better returns', explains the fundamental rules of sheep feeding and how management tools such as Body Condition Scoring (BCS) can help producers ensure that they are feeding ewes the right amount for their needs.
EBLEX board member, David Raine, said: "Feed is the biggest variable cost on a sheep enterprise. Even making small changes to sheep feed can make a big difference to physical and financial performance. We hope the advice in this manual will help producers make a significant difference to their returns."
The guide has been distributed to nearly 12,000 sheep farmers and is available to download from www.eblex.org.uk
