Burnetts in Carlisle is to give free legal advice to Cumbrian businesses and individuals following the recent devastation wreaked by the weather in the County.
The firm is making the offer to anyone in Cumbria who needs advice on flood-related issues.
The offer, which will last at least until 30th April 2010, covers any type of legal support such as advice on leases or tenancies for businesses which need to temporarily re-locate. Experience from 2005 indicates that it’s also likely that residents will need legal help following problems with slow insurance companies or rogue builders.
Like hundreds of other Carlisle householders, Burnetts Managing Partner, Tom Leach was not able to return to his home near Warwick Road for almost a year following flooding.
He said, “I know just how stressful and upsetting a flood can be, having experienced first-hand the destruction of my home. We want to do what we can to help businesses get safely back on their feet and to support Cumbrians if they need reassurance about their legal position or find that they need to have shoddy work rectified.”
He continued, “This is a no-strings-attached offer of genuine assistance to local people. We will help wherever we can.”
Anyone wishing to take advantage of the free advice offer should contact solicitor Kenny Ling on 01228 552222 or by email to floods@burnetts.co.uk.
