Skipton Auction Mart staged a show for ‘early’ ewes with lambs at foot. (Mon, March 29)

Anthony Thompson, of Foulridge, send out the first prize pair of Texel-x-Beltex ewes with single Beltex lambs, acquired at £170 per outfit by judge James Farrington, of Helmsley.

Mr Thompson also exhibited the show’s top-priced pen of two Beltex ewes with twin lambs, sold at £250 each to M Jennings, Halifax.

The second class of five ewes with lambs at foot was won by a pen of Texel ewes, all with twin lambs, from Nick Dalby, of Hartwith, Harrogate. They joined FA Holmes & Sons, Otley, for £172 per outfit.
