The 10th Official West
Country Sale of Lleyn sheep and the opening Society Sale was held at Exeter
Livestock Centre on behalf of the Lleyn Sheep Society on Thursday 26th August
2010 and conducted by Exeter Market Auctioneers.

The sale attracted a slightly larger
entry than recent years of 1008 sheep.
There was a very fast trade for
the females on offer with a 96% clearance of shearling ewes,100% clearance on the ewe lambs and 94% clearance
on the rams. Shearling ewes from Messrs D N Bennett & Son of Meifod sold at £182. Ewe lambs from the same vendors sold at £105. Two year old ewes
sold to £140 twice for D C & C M
Evans of Ivybridge and for Messrs D C & E M Stacey of Minehead.

Shearling rams topped to 2200 gns. again for Messrs E & D Jones of Machynlleth (Flock 599) who sold ram No:097180, a son
of 809/050300 to Mr Jim Dufosee of Warminster. They also sold another shearling ram at 2100 gns. Mr Jim Dufosee of
Warminster (Flock 940) also sold a ram, No:093373, for 1400 gns. as did Mrs S P Sayers of Plymouth with ram No: 090353.
