There have
been over 10,000 animals registered in NZ through the Association
to date, with several hundred others unregistered in commercial dairyman's
herds.
Brown Cattle
can definitely be ascribed to the group of Shorthorn Cattle (Bos
Brachyceros) with strong influences from the breeding group of European
Ur-cattle (Bos Primigenius Bojan).
The Brown
Swiss Cattle Breeders' Association of the USA was formed in 1880
when a group of Brown Swiss breeders organized themselves in Worcester,
Massachusetts.
