The history of the campus dates to 1931.
First founded as the School of Agriculture, it became the College
of Agriculture in 1942 and finally incorporated as the Universiti
Pertanian (Agriculture) Malaysia (UPM) in 1971 by merging with the
Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Malaya. On 3 April 1997
the university was renamed as Universiti Putra Malaysia. |

The faculty is involved
in collaboration research with local, regional and international
institutions. The departments are staffed by over eighty academicians
who have been trained within the country and from all over the world
including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Belgium
and the United States of America. |
