Having completed a National Diploma in Agriculture at Greenmount, Andrew, along with his father Robin, continues to manage their herd of 50 pedigree Maineview Holsteins and flock of 30 pedigree Texel ewes.

Andrew is a member of Randalstown Young Farmers Club and Northern Ireland Holstein Young Breeders. As a keen member of the Northern Ireland Holstein Young Breeders Club, Andrew has competed at both local and National competitions with a long list of successes within young handlers, linear assessment, stock judging and clipping competitions. The greatest acclaim for Andrew and indeed for the Northern Ireland Holstein Club, was in 2004 where he achieved All Breeds All Britain Calf Show Supreme Championship with Riverdane RJ Rose who also went onto to be All Britain Junior Heifer 2004. Andrew has recently been selected for the team representing the UK at the European Young Breeders School, Belgium this Autumn.

Andrew concluded, “Cogent offer top class genetics and I am really looking forward to this exciting challenge especially sharing my cow knowledge with other like minded dairy producers.

“It’s vital that our industry supports the young people who represent the future of agriculture. Andrew has a great enthusiasm for the industry and with extensive dairying experience we have no doubt that he’ll be a valuable addition to our team” confirms Ashley Fleming Northern Ireland Manager. “We are extremely delighted to have Andrew on board; he arrives at an exciting time with our breeding programme growing from strength to strength”.
