Hackleton Vixen bred by Hackleton Farms from Northamptonshire made a huge impact on both the Blonde judge Mr J Armstrong from Cumbria and the interbreed judge Mrs P Stanley from Leicestershire. Leading the grand parade she was to amaze the crowds that surrounded the ring at the Three Counties show over the weekend. A truly tremendous cow said Mrs Stanley.

Hackleton Vixen sired by Brownhill Oswald out of Hackleton Lorreta born 06/05/04 had taken the Blonde championship and raising the FarmMark Perpetual Challenge Trophy presented by Steph Denny representing the main sponsors of the day the Farmers Guardian, piped to the post Doncombe Celine bred by Mr and Mrs David Knight from Bristol who took Reserve Champion. Vixen earnt her first place position on the Doncombe Perpetual Trophy donated by Mr and Mrs David Knight for the homebred champion in the competition, as well as winning the Avoncroft Perpetual Trophy having been sponsored by the South East Blonde Club for the Senior cow class following on to be presented with the Les Lilley Memorial Trophy for Female champion.
Doncombe Celine born 2/11/2007 sired by Neilson out of Doncombe Metallica who had won the intermediate heifer class being the first to win the Ivaniskey pedigree livestock cup presented by the McElroy family from Northern Ireland, this class had been sponsored by Harrison and Hetherington from Borderway Mart, Carlisle was a strong contender for Vixen.
A great success for the Doncombe herd winning the Lambert Fenchurch trophy sponsored by the South West Blonde club for the Senior bull with Doncombe Coolibah one of the youngest in its class. Doncombe Ethan winning the junior bull class sponsored by Harrison and Hetherington from Borderway mart Carlisle represented by Heather Pritchard who presented the Bradnock Perpetual Challenge Trophy. Doncombe Ethan also won the male champion on the day picking up the Farmers Weekly Perpetual Trophy.
Mr R Kinnish from Shropshire was delighted when homebred Kinaston Davey took the judges eye in the intermediate bull class being awarded the Blackwater Trophy donated by Mr and Mrs Calderbank.
Doncombe Boheme was the junior cow that took the judges eye winning the Badham Perpetual challenge trophy adding to the Doncombes herd success. David Knight was thrilled and very proud that five different bulls had sired five class winners.
Mr Roy Kinnish was again in the honours winning the senior heifer class with Kinaston Connie sired by Hackleton Varig lifting the Meatgold trophy.
The Junior heifer prize went again to the Doncombe herd with Doncombe Epona who was awarded the Avonparks Perpetual Trophy, born 12/03/09 Epona stood her own in this large class of maiden heifers.
The Fronfedw herd from Lampeter were thrilled to be presented with the Farmers Guardian Perpetual trophy for the best pair of animals
Linda Sewell from Cambridgeshire won the calf class with Meadow Eugene born 11/12/09 out of Meadow Pansy sired by Meadow Chuckle.
FIERBA presented the Miss Future trophy, presented by Ben Garratt to Mr R Ward for his heifer Overton Douchess for the best heifer less than thirty months, who had travelled down from Pickering North Yorkshire.
The South West club won the inter regional teams of cattle that were put together from various breeders.
The commercial heifer was won by Mr G Brook born 16.01.09. The steer class was won by a very busy Mr Kinnish from Bridgenorth, showing his steer which was out of a charollais cow crossed with a Blonde bull. The Championhip went to Mr Brook from Alfrick, Malvern.
This first National show was a huge success thanks to the all the exhibitors bringing excellent cattle and all of the sponsors who supported this event.
A sight to be seen to have a shed and a half of Blonde cattle which were a truly fine example of the breed.
Mr and Mrs Archer were amongst the ribbons with Marstonmill Barbie Doll with her calf at foot in the interbreed cow and calf class.
Rosie Colton from Worcester led the way in winning for the second year the junior stock judging class run by the society where by four animals were paraded for the young stock judgers to judge and then to give their reasons to the master judge which was Mr Kendle Jackson from the Stubbswalden herd, Doncaster Yorkshire.
