| 25/08/06 RISING temperatures and rising beefburger sales went hand-in-hand
in the four weeks up to Aug 13.
As sunshine brought out the barbecues the weight of burgers
sold shot up by a massive 33 per cent - an extra 2,513 tonnes -
compared with the same period in 2005, reports the English Beef
              and Lamb Executive (EBLEX).
BRITISH cattle and cattle genetics came under the spotlight
in Bavaria when EBLEX sponsored the British Livestock Genetics
group to attend their first show following the lifting of the British
              beef export ban.
Inquiries received by the group included queries on breeding cattle
and on semen and embryos for a total of 10 different breeds.
