The Dairy Event will continue to go a head next week, 19 and 20
September at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, however following discussions
with Defra and the imposition of cattle movement restrictions covering
GB as a results of yesterday’s confirmation of the FMD outbreak
in Surrey, RABDF will not be able to accept cattle exhibits and
livestock on stands.

RABDF chief executive comments, Nick Everington: "Of course
we are extremely disappointed that livestock will not be present
at the event this year. We will ensure that stringent bio-security
measures are put in place and we are still encouraging people to
attend and support this important event for the livestock industry.
"Cattle classes are just one of the many features and attractions
that livestock farmers come to see. The Dairy Event is a business
to business event for livestock farmers and a comprehensive programme
of features and attractions planned for this year will still take
place. These include the new Farm Health Planning Exhibition and
telehandler demonstrations as well as the existing and popular
Beef from the Dairy Herd, Forage for Livestock, Diversifarm and
MilkMade Exhibitions together with the UK's largest demonstrations
of mixer wagons."
He adds: "Pre-event ticket sales are well ahead of last year
and we are expecting big crowds to come and see the 406 trade stands,
which include a record number of tractor manufacturers, as well
as listen to HRH The Princess Royal who will officially open the
event."
