 The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward
                54 prime cattle, 2 young bulls, 11 OTM, 4,055 prime lambs and
                4,400 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on
              Thursday 25th October, 2007. All classes of clean cattle were dearer on the week. Limousin
                bullocks from J R Nixon, Hallees selling to 131.5p to Forth Meats,
                Gala, others to 129.5p East Cliff, 128.5p, 126.5p Hallees. Heavyweight
                Charolais to 124.5p & 122.5p Sceughdyke, Blondes to 123.5p
                from Netheronsett. Charolais heifers 130.5p, 127.5p, 124.5p Sceughdyke,
                Limousin heifers129.5p, 127.5p Newby Farm.Young bulls to 88.5p for Holstein Friesians from Laws Hall.
 OTM’s met a steady trade. Limousins to 51.5p Raeburnhead,
                Galloways 49.5p Baron House. Angus 49.5p Raeburnhead. The larger show of prime lambs saw trade easier on the week
                with only the best lambs selling well. The sale average was 73p.
                Top was £41.50 for Texel lambs from Messrs Little, Northgreenhill
              and to a top of 96.5p also from Northgreenhill. Other Texels to £40 Bankhead, Suffolks £37 Colter
                Coats, £36.50 Sceughdyke, Charollais £34.80 Glebelands,
                Greyfaces £33 Cawfield, £31.50 Newbiggin, Cheviot
                Mules £32 Tushielaw, Blackface £27.50 High Crindledyke,
                North Country Cheviots £36.50, £34.50 Whiteknowe. Lightweight lambs were less in numbers and met a sound trade.
