 Defra minister Lord Rooker will deliver the keynote speech at
            the Meat and Livestock Commission's highly regarded Outlook Conference. 
             Entitled "Making Sense of Uncertainty", the 2008 conference
              will be held at One Great George Street, London on Tuesday 29 January
              comprising a morning conference and two afternoon sessions focusing
            in detail on the pig sector and the cattle and sheep sectors. Key speakers at the event are Mike Coupe, Trading Director at
              J Sainsbury, Tara Garnett, Coordinator of the Food Climate Research
              Network and John Nalivka, the leading US industry consultant. The conference, which will include a question and discussion session,
              will be chaired by MLC Chief Executive Richard Lowe and delegates
              will be welcomed by MLC Chairman Peter Barr. The afternoon parallel sessions, at which MLC will present its
              latest market forecasts, will be chaired by Richard Ali, Chief
              Executive of the English Beef and Lamb Executive and Stewart Houston,
              Chairman of the British Pig Executive. Head of Policy at MLC Stephen Rossides said: "The Outlook
              conference is forward looking, exploring the drivers shaping our
              industry in the longer term. We aim to encourage participants to
              think about how they can respond to challenges and seize potential
              opportunities in an uncertain world. With a line-up of stimulating
              speakers, Outlook '08 promises to be a classic."
