The 54 prime cattle saw heavyweights cheaper on the week. Top price of 187.5p for Limousin heifers from Hallburn; British Blue 177.5p Hallburn; Blonde d’Aquitaine 173.5p Toppin Castle. Limousin bullocks to 176.5p and 173.5p Toppin Castle; Blonde d’Aquitaine 171.5p The Gill; British Blue 171.5p Gardrum.
22 over thirty month cattle were on offer. Limousin bulls to £1,139 Wanwood Hill. Saler cows £937 Moss Side; Limousin £775 Nunscleugh; British Blue £709 Wanwood Hill; Black & Whites £632 Jerriestown. Hereford heifers £705 Enzieholm. Shorthorn bullocks £622 Moorhills.
A smaller show of 3,254 prime hoggs were forward to the usual full ring of buyers. All classes were short of requirements resulting in trade being 9p per kilo dearer on the week.
The 849 hoggs under 36 kilos averaged 189.9p whilst the 2,408 hoggs over 36 kilos averaged 193.6p.
