Demand for quality UK-bred pedigree beef genetics continues to grow in France, resulting in the sale of Belted Galloways from Jane Smith’s Whitepool and Rainbow herds, based at Usk, Monmouthshire, for an undisclosed price.
Two heifers included in the consignment to France

The consignment, which has been organised by Victory Cattle Ltd, Westport, Co Mayo, for their base in Normandy, France, includes four adult females and one heifer calf, representing some of the best genetics from the Whitepool and Rainbow herds.
Included in the consignment are:
- Barclosh Daisy with her August 2009 heifer calf, Whitepool Daisy, by Rainbow Radar
- Whitepool Lady Day, a February 2008 heifer who was junior heifer champion RASE 2009. By Lullendon The Abbot out of a Mochrum Kyle cow Muil Cindy who was sold at the Whitepool production sale last year
- Whitepool Midnight Mystique, a November 2008 daughter of Southfield Double-O-Seven out of Mosshayes Daybreak who had a distinguished show career
- Whitepool Marianna, a January 2009 daughter of Southfield Double-O-Seven out of Whitepool Mirage who has had many show ring successes.
Other Belted Galloway cattle have joined the above cattle from John Corrie and Anne Bell, as well as Highland and Aberdeen-Angus cattle.
