Worcester Blondes Sell to 3,900 Guineas

There was plenty of buying power present for the quality stock at the Blonde Society's Annual Spring Show and Sale at Worcester. A strong clearance rate coupled with spirited bidding throughout confirmed this years' event as a resounding success.

Bostock Elite - 3,900 guineas

Bostock Elite

Top call of the day was for the youngest bull on offer and the last to be sold. The First Prize winner in the Junior Class, "Bostock Elite" from Miss C Boden was by 'Hillhead Anfield' and out of Hackleton Aimee that won Breed Champion, Royal Welsh 2008, 2009 and Breed Champion, Royal Show, 2009. The 14 month old hit 3,900gns and taken by SW Clarke, Dunstall, Burton on Trent.

Mr Clarke was a keen buyer throughout the sale, taking another 3 bulls including 'Frondfedw Druid' a second prize bull from RG Davies at 3,500gns and 'Fronfedw Dyfed' a third prize winner at 3,000gns from the same herd. He also made his presence felt in the female section taking the Reserve Female Champion "Blackwater Docare" from IR Calderbank at 2,000gns.

Champion - Whistley Depart

A consignment from D Skinner's "Allacott" herd enjoyed a close and keen following selling, to a top of 3,850gns for "Allacot Dude", a 21 month old son of 'Allacott Bulla', being taken by HR Thomas, Minsterley, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Another West Country consignment from G Haines, Cornwall enjoyed brisk bidding for "Retyn Descartes" a son of 'Whistley Dollar' out of a homebred Druk Lance cow peaking at a creditable 3,500gns to DC Rees & Son, Brecon, Powys.

Fronfedw Cara - 2,000 guineas

Bostock Elite

A strong entry from Bristol breeder David Knight culminated in a top of 3,500gns for "Doncombe Dunedin" a Druk Lance second prize winner taken by CW Thomas, Leysters, Leominster, Herefordshire.
